Panini Football Sticker
The first album for the World Cup "Mexico 70" has been published in many European countries, which laid the foundations for Panini's international success. The albums and stickers are now sold in over 110 countries. The demand and thus the fan base grow with every new football event.
The "Mexico 70" album is now the most popular collection album ever. Actually, it isn’t a sticker album as we know it today. The player-stickers are made of cardboard and were fixed with glue in the album. The badges and posters alone were self-adhesive. The first modern WM album with stickers appeared in 1974. In Germany you could not buy the "Munich 74" officially, which changed only with the "Espana 82" album. Although the WM stickers have been produced and sold thousands of times from the beginning, the great demand has led to ever higher prices - especially for the sensitive badges with metallic surface.
At the European Championship in 1980 Panini published his first European Championship album and the first metal badges for international football. Completely glued albums and also individual stickers from 1980 and 1984 are rare, but also from the years 1988 to 2000 are getting increasingly rare.
In this section pictures and stickers of German and international stars from both domestic and foreign football albums are offered. Our German players like Matthäus, Rummenigge and Klinsmann are very popular worldwide. International stars - including many world footballers and top scorers, such as Pele, Maradona, Zidane or Messi - inspire their fans around the world yesterday and today. Many of these football stars also enjoyed great success at national championships or in the Champions League. So you could "read" even a few chronicles of the stars by means of the stickers.
